Your data belongs to you. This page explains simply what data we receive when you use this website, why, and how to exercise your rights.
Who is responsible for your data?
Two entities, each for its own part:
- Deep Blue Diving SRL (BCE BE 1007.593.042) for the shop, the dive school, the workshop and messages sent through the website;
- Deep Blue Diving Club ASBL (BCE 1043.942.011) for club activities: memberships, dive trips and holidays.
Both have their registered office at Rue Saint-Roch 22, 1300 Wavre, Belgium.
For any question about your data: info@deepbluediving.be or 010 81 59 54.
What data and why?
- Website forms (try dive booking, course enquiry, club membership, contact): your name, your email, your phone number if you give it, the subject and your message. They are used only to reply to you and arrange what you ask for.
- WhatsApp and phone: if you contact us this way, we receive the information you send us, in order to reply.
- Club membership: if you become a member, the association uses your details to manage your membership, keep you informed about dive trips and organise the holidays you sign up for.
- Technical data: as with any website, the host automatically records technical information (IP address, browser type, date and time of visit) to run the website and protect it against abuse.
We never sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
On what basis?
- Your request: when you write to us, processing is necessary to reply and, where relevant, to prepare a contract (try dive, course, membership).
- Our legitimate interest: keeping the website running properly and securely.
How long?
Messages received through the website are kept as long as needed to handle your request, then for up to 3 years after our last contact. Club members’ data is kept for the duration of the membership, then for up to 3 years. If you become a customer, data relating to your purchases and courses is kept for as long as the law requires (in particular for accounting).
Who has access to it?
Only the Deep Blue Diving team (and, for the club, the association’s officers), and our technical providers, as far as necessary:
- Vercel Inc. (website hosting, United States);
- Resend (sending form emails, United States);
- OVHcloud (hosting our email, European Union).
When data is transferred to the United States, these transfers are covered by the safeguards provided by the GDPR (EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses).
Cookies
This website uses no advertising cookies, no tracking tools and no visitor statistics. Fonts are hosted on the website itself: no data is sent to Google when you visit.
The only exception is the Google Maps map. It only loads if you click to show it. At that point, Google may place its own cookies and receive connection data (such as your IP address), under its own privacy policy.
If this ever changes (for example to measure traffic), we will ask for your consent before placing any non-essential cookie.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict its use, to object to its processing or to receive a copy of it. Simply write to info@deepbluediving.be (for both the company and the club): we will reply within one month at most.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels — www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
